As a baby photographer, Janette loves to capture the authentic moments of your baby. The precious face. The sweet smile. The long yawn. The little hands and feet. The fascination he/she has for anything and everything. And the quiet moments between you and your child.
Janette will also capture a more conceptualized baby portrait during your baby photography shoot with fun props such as a basket full of flowers, an old wooden bucket or a pretty tutu if this is a look you wish to achieve.

When is the best time for a Baby Photography Session?
​
Janette feels the best time to have a baby portrait session is when your baby is around 6 – 9 months, when they are beginning to sit up but are not yet crawling. By this time they are bubbling with personality and yet still easy to photograph. By the time they are walking it is time for a completely different baby photography session – a documentary baby shoot as Janette chases after them.
Many people call about a baby photography shoot when their baby is three months old. While this is a delightful time Janette prefers to photograph babies when they are sitting up. A professional photography shoot is not inexpensive and waiting the extra few months will result in money well spent with many more different photographs to view.
If you are wanting to capture your baby’s first year Janette recommends a newborn photography session, a baby photography session at six to eight months and a one year baby photography session. Please inquire about Janette’s baby’s first year package.

What does the Baby Photography Session Include?

The baby photography session includes a pre-consultation (by phone, Skype or email). This is the time for Janette’s creative pre-production. We will discuss the purpose of your baby photography session and the types of baby portraits you desire. Do you love classic black and white baby portraits? Or vibrant color baby photos? Do you prefer intimate documentary style baby photos? Or more conceptual baby portraits? Or a mixture of both? Janette will review specific looks you wish to achieve and then set about customizing your shoot with props and backdrops and locations.
The baby photography session also includes careful editing of the many baby photographs Janette takes to the best 30-40 images. These images will then be enhanced for color or changed to black and white or sepia to create beautiful fine art images of your precious baby. After the post production of your baby’s photographs are completed they will be uploaded to your own private password protected gallery that you can choose to share with family and friends. After 10 days, we will set up a complimentary in-home or phone consultation to discuss your order. Prints, photo albums and collections are separate from the session fee. Where are the Baby Photography Sessions taken?

Baby photography sessions are tailored to your needs. Janette realizes how hectic life is for many families these days and are happy to travel to your home to capture your baby photos. They also realize a baby is often more comfortable in his own home. Weather permitting, Janette and Lauren also love to capture baby portraits outside, on location.
The baby photography session can also be held in Janette’s studio in the Hudson Valley. Janette regularly travels to Connecticut, NYC, Westchester, and Putnam and Dutchess counties of the Hudson Valley. Feel free to inquire about travel outside of NY and CT.
